I worked as the Mountaineering Council of Scotland (MCofS) Access and Conservation Officer during the years when Scotland’s Land Reform legislation was passing through the Scottish Parliament. I then went on to work as the Scottish Canoe Association’s (SCA) Access and Environment Officer during the implementation phase after the legislation had come into force.
This experience of being involved in the process of forming the legislation and working on site-based issues around Scotland in the years immediately after the introduction of Scottish Access Rights has provided me with an in-depth knowledge of Scotland’s new statutory access rights and corresponding responsibilities.
I am now offering my knowledge and experience on a freelance basis. As well as being able to offer advice on site-based issues I am also available to run training sessions in all aspects of Scottish Access Rights.
